I must admit sometimes I'm overwhelmed with all the choices out there when it comes time for me to choose something to listen to as I drive to work or wash dishes or whatever. This multitude of choices is still fairly new to me. For most of my life you were limited to listening to whatever CDs or tapes you happened to own or have in you possession. That seriously limited your options.
But now, with streaming subscriptions you have access to millions of albums write there in your pocket. I've been taking advantage of that the past few years going through entire discographies of my favorite artists. Yeah, the mystery of discovery has now kind of gone away with all this music so readily available. But I'll take the trade off of listening to just about anything I want to at any time.
Yeah, sometimes it can cause a mental freeze when I need to choose something quick for the commute. However, sometimes you just got to go with the old standards. For example, you can never go wrong with The Black Keys. They'll never lead you astray and they are prolific on their output. I'm way behind on their stuff. Time to spin!
