Pixies!

The Pixies were in town last night. Strangely enough my son and I had seen them live exactly six years ago on the same night. Great show 

Drake’s

Celebrated our anniversary last week at Drake’s Hollywood in Dallas. Old time Hollywood restaurant with murals of the old legends in caricature. We had lobster escargot for an appetizer, filet mignon pizza and chocolate silk pie. 

 

Another Loss

This weekend went to see the Royals lose. Again. This time in the mall they call a stadium in Texas. At least the temp inside was nice. 

Fireflies!

Made the pilgrimage to the old house. It was dusk. There were locusts buzzing and lightning bugs flashing in the front yard. I was overcome with nostalgia for the summer nights of my childhood. Laying in bed, looking out the screened in window at the backyard. Listening to Fred White and Denny Matthews broadcast the Royals game with lightning bugs under the tree in the yard.

 Went a second night to see the Yanks beat KC.

Old Friends

It was good to meet up with my oldest friend, Paul, week. We had dinner over a Pakistani buffet and remembered some good times.
